Advanced Cake Decorating

For those who have completed Basic Cake Decorating and just want to learn more, this is the class for you.  Learn to make fancy borders, new flowers and a lot more.  If you know a little and want to learn more, come and join in the fun and see how creative you can be with an instructor who has over 30 years experience in decorating and teaching.  Materials fee of $15. will be paid to the instructor, beginning of first class.

Boot Kicker Dance Class for Beginners

This is a seven week session for the beginner dancer.  In this class a student will learn approximately 85% of all steps needed for any type of dance.  Although this beginner class is centered around Country Music and a Western, Cowboy/Cowgirl theme, most of the dances taught can be danced to any kind of music. Completion of this class is required to enter the Intermediate Level Class.  Although some couple dances are taught, you do not need a partner.  It is best to wear smooth-soled, low heel shoes or boots.  

Boot Kicker Dance Class Intermediate

This seven week session is for the intermediate level dancer.   This level is sometimes called "Improver" or Advanced Beginner".  Class is designed to prepare the dancer for the more acomplicated movements of he Advance level classes.  It covers the basics of different styles of dance such as the Mambo and Swing.  You will also learn many copule and line dances.  A partner is not required.  

Continually Seagrass Wine, Utensil or Brush Basket

Students will enjoy making this versatile basket with wonderful textures as wood, seagrass, leather, and rattan combine in this delightful container.  We'll start with wooden base (for stability), learn the continuous weave and chase technique, and how to incorporate a leather handle.  Students will determine the height of their indvidual baskets.  All skill levels welcome.  

Cost of materials paid to instructor--$28.  

Tools Needed--

  • dish pan or bucket
  • old towel
  • pencil
  • flexible (cloth or plastic) tape measure
  • strong, sharp scissors
  • round awl (can be purchased from instructor for $2--with advance notice
  • 2 dozen deep-throated spring clothes pins
  • clean needle-nose pliers
  • spray bottle 

Crochet for Beginners & Intermediate

Beginner-Learn basic crochet stitches and how to read a basic pattern.  There will be a $12 supply fee to be paid to the instructor at the first class which covers the cost of yarn (both cotton and acrylic), a crochet hook, tote bag, stitch samples, and a variety of patterns.

Intermediate-Refresh skills, receive assistance with patterns, stitches, or techniques.  Feel free to bring a project from home.  If you would like to contact the instructor prior to class to discuss your needs call 304-725-3172 before 7 pm.  

ESL--English for Speakers of Other Languages

Calendar Oct 2, 2017 , runs for 37 weeks

Classes will focus on conversational English, grammar, reading, writing, citizenship test preparation (US History/Civics) for beginners to intermediate level students. Job skills are integrated in the academic curriculum.  No child care is available.  

Tuesday & Thursday (AM Class) 9:00 am - 2:00 pm  (Beginners class is 9:00-11:30)

German Folded Paper Stars

This traditional, 3-dimensional, 16-pointed Moravian holiday decoration is a pleasure to create...and has some interesting variations which you might choose to try after making a few in class.  You will recieve papers for at least four 2 1/2" stars.  There will be some choice of colors.
